What I Have Been Eating Lately…


For the past week and the half, I have been starting every morning off with a smoothie (except last Saturday when I knew we were going to be hiking up 2 mountains… than I had bacon and pancakes). My smoothies consist of a lot of fresh fruit (I am really bad at measuring and normally make too much of it), a scoop of whey protein, some Greek yogurt and 3-4 ice cubes. It makes two servings and the calories come out to be around 220. Sometimes I throw in some spinach or kale to get some more vegetables into my diet.

I don’t care about your fancy blenders… I think my Ninja does a pretty awesome job!


This was a strawberry and blueberry smoothie that I had this morning for breakfast.

Then for lunch, it is normally some sort of sandwich. Yesterday I was haying so I knew I needed something a little more filling and would give me energy. So I made up some turkey burgers (I just get the jenny-o prepackaged ones even though they are annoying as hell to pull apart).  For the bun, I used multi-grain sandwich thins for an additional 100 calories.

Not a bad 400 calorie lunch if you ask me!


I also used half a wedge of laughing cow cheese on each burger. I made a burger for my fiance as well! Just enough for flavor. There was spinach in the burger too!


And this fancy ketchup! Normally we don’t get fancy ketchup… but we saw this at the Natural Food Store in town…and it was made with dijon mustard which reminded us of the song “If I Had a Million Dollars” by Barenaked Ladies… and we happen to be fans… so we bought it. We’re silly like that.


Then my favorite dinner for far this week has been Thai Coconut Red Curry Shrimp. So Delicious. I will get pictures and the recipe later today!

I eat about 1200 – 1400 calories a day and am pretty active on most days. On days I am not so active, I try to eat less but I always seem to eat less when I am really active because I am just too busy to eat… which is weird but makes sense.

I am still hopeful that I can reach 207 by the end of the month!

  1. Looks yummy! I like smoothies as well. Although – my blender sort of died earlier this week. I am letting it “rest” and going to try it again next week. Perhaps i just overheated it lol

    I am thinking about trying to do unprocessed food for 21 days once i finish my turbofire program – have you ever tried to do that before? I am sure i will blog about it to get opinions, just curious if it’s something you’ve tried out!

  2. Me and my girlfriend started doing the shake thing in the morning, to be healthier too. I actually love it. We throw in spinach, kale is too intimidating to us. But I’m surprised how good I never taste the spinach, but you get all the nutrients (that’s my kind of vegetable). Oh, and I don’t normally do ketchup, but that bottle makes me want to.

  3. I’ve had that BNL song stuck in my head for days! It started when my husband was upset about our dilapidated fence. I was trying to make him smile, so I bust out with, “If I had a million dollars…I’d buy you a fence!” lol
