So I bit the bullet and bought the journeytoawesomehood.com domain! It makes me feel like an accomplished blogger! All professional and snazzy. Looking so sleek in the url box thingy. Whose an awesome URL? You are. You’re an awesome URL. Oh, hi everyone. Just having a moment here. It makes me feel better about myself and since I am gimpy, this was the best I can do to have some shopping therapy by investing more into my blog. Hurray!
Once again, I want to give a huge thank you for the wonderful support I received yesterday. It has been such a crazy journey, but it has definitely been a very rewarding one as well. I am so grateful for this blogging community, and I really don’t think I would have made it this far without this lovely blog (this was also my reasoning for buying the domain name). Also since I really love you guys, I am going to tell you about this wonderful giveaway being hosted over at Trying Not To Be Fat. All you have to do is come up with a creative health/food challenge for the SlimKicker app/website. What do you win? A freaking heart monitor. Even though my odds of winning are hugely awesome at this point, I feel like I should share the awesome with you guys.
Yeah, I love you guys that much. Feel special.
Just in case you are not following my Facebook page (which, lets face it, you should be! :p), I have been sticking to my salad a day challenge. Mostly because I have super amazing supportive friends. You see last night was our weekly game night where we geek out and combat for who is the
meanest most strategic. We alternate who hosts the game night and the hosting peeps make an awesome dinner for all of us to enjoy (it’s also a night of free food when you aren’t hosting, and you only have to feed us once a month which isn’t shabby). For lunch, I did not have my normal salad and I was a little freaked out that I wasn’t going to be able to make my salad a day challenge work since I had no idea what was going to be for dinner.
But like I said, my friends are amazing. They made a stir fry and a yummy salad! And I just combined the two to have a chicken stir fry salad!
It was actually a really tasty salad. I didn’t have any dressing, and just used the sauce from the stir fry as flavor. And it was actually really delicious. So instead of rice and noodles, the next time you do a stir fry, you should just make it a salad. Yay veggies!
This morning I also invented a new smoothie! I am sure the idea already exists and it is not original at all, but I am pretty proud of myself for doing it without a recipe. I absolutely love Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and lately it has been feeling like Fall here in the beautiful state of Maine. So what better way to celebrate than with a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Smoothie?!
I was also a little naughty and had half of a low-fat blueberry muffin. I couldn’t resist. I know there is normally a lot of sugar in those sort of things but it was calling to me!
My husband also bought me a bouquet of flowers to gaze upon as I am on the couch for most/all of today since I really over did it on my foot yesterday. For some reason, every time I have shoes on, it feels like sharp pain on top of my foot. That’s not normal. I wish the doctor would get back to me. I hate this not knowing because then I feel like maybe I am making it all up and should just suck it up and do stuff.
Hopefully I will hear something soon about my x-rays! Fingers crossed that something is found and I can be fixed! Yay!
